State Leaders Highlight Rural Tennessee Investment
Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee said the expansion reflects the importance of job creation and business investment in rural communities across the state.
“What happens in rural Tennessee matters to all Tennesseans, and I am proud to take part in announcing Homeland Vinyl’s third expansion, which will bring greater opportunity to families across this region,” said Gov. “When a company chooses to invest in Tennessee time and again, it reflects the strength of our state, our skilled workforce and the communities like Surgoinsville and Hawkins County that have worked to make Tennessee the best place to do business,” said McWhorter. “We thank Homeland Vinyl for its continued investment and look forward to partnering again on the next announcement.”
Expansion Strengthens Hawkins County Manufacturing Sector
Local officials said the project will create new opportunities for Hawkins County families while supporting the region’s continued manufacturing momentum.
“Hawkins County is proud of Homeland Vinyl in Surgoinsville, and now with another expansion, we’re even more proud,” said Hawkins County Mayor Mark DeWitte. “Homeland Vinyl located here in 2015, with expansions in 2017 and 2020, and that makes them a significant part of our county. Now, with another expansion and construction nearing, they are even more significant. Homeland Vinyl is a fine example of businesses coming here, staying and expanding, proving Hawkins County is a great place to do business.”
Sen. Bobby Harshbarger said the $5.5 million investment and 50 new jobs represent a strong vote of confidence in the community.
“Homeland Vinyl’s decision to expand in Hawkins County is a strong vote of confidence in our community, our workforce and the business-friendly environment we have worked hard to create in Tennessee,” said Harshbarger. “The creation of 50 new jobs and a $5.5 million investment will provide meaningful opportunities for local families while strengthening our region’s manufacturing sector.”
