RICHMOND, Va. (October 24, 2025) – KCG Engineering Group, a veteran-owned firm providing advanced technology and engineering solutions for defense and government clients, announced plans to expand its operations in Chesapeake, Virginia. The company will invest $185,000 to consolidate its Hampton Roads facilities, a move expected to create 60 new jobs in the region.
Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Virginia Beach, Klett Consulting Group, Inc. (KCG) delivers mission-critical services to all branches of the U.S. military, including IT and cybersecurity, systems engineering, and weapons systems management. The expansion will support the company’s continued growth and its commitment to innovation in defense technology.
“KCG’s expansion is a powerful reminder that when companies choose Virginia, they choose a Commonwealth committed to performance, partnership, and results,” said Governor Glenn Youngkin. “By consolidating operations and creating new jobs in Chesapeake, KCG is strengthening Virginia’s role as a leader in defense and technology innovation.”
“For companies like KCG, there is truly no better place to do business than Hampton Roads,” added Secretary of Commerce and Trade Juan Pablo Segura. “With a world-class workforce and access to key military and industrial assets, KCG’s new headquarters will position the company for long-term success.”
The company’s state-of-the-art Chesapeake facility will serve as its new headquarters, supporting expanded operations and innovation across KCG’s engineering and defense contracts.
“This expansion is a strategic investment in our future,” said KCG President Mike Klett. “Our Chesapeake headquarters will be a hub for innovation, enabling us to deliver advanced technology solutions that enhance mission success for our clients. We’re grateful for the support of the Commonwealth and local partners who share our vision to ‘Create the Future.’”
Regional leaders applauded KCG’s investment as a major win for the Hampton Roads economy.
“KCG Engineering embodies the kind of innovation and mission focus that define our region’s economic future,” said Hampton Roads Alliance President & CEO Douglas L. Smith. “Their expansion reinforces our position at the intersection of defense, technology, and national security.”
“Chesapeake’s small business community forms the foundation of our city’s success,” said Mayor Rick West. “Investments like KCG’s bring high-quality jobs and opportunity to our residents.”
The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) worked with the City of Chesapeake and the Hampton Roads Alliance to secure the project. KCG will receive support through the Virginia Jobs Investment Program (VJIP), which provides consultative and financial assistance for workforce recruitment and training.
