Advanced automation leader strengthens Kentucky’s role in EV assembly and high-tech manufacturing growth
FRANKFORT, Ky. — Governor Andy Beshear today joined company leaders and local officials to celebrate the ribbon-cutting of Kinemetrix’s newly expanded manufacturing operation in Lexington — a $4 million investment that will create 12 new high-skilled jobs and directly support the growing electric vehicle (EV) assembly and advanced manufacturing sectors.
“Kentucky’s advanced manufacturing industry continues to create new jobs and spark economic growth in communities throughout the state,” said Gov. Andy Beshear. “Kinemetrix’s expansion not only supports our rapidly growing EV sector but also adds quality, skilled job opportunities in the Lexington area. I want to thank company leadership for their ongoing commitment to the commonwealth and look forward to their continued success.”
Expansion Doubles Production Capacity and Boosts Revenue Growth
The project, initiated in January 2024, expanded the company’s existing Lexington facility and introduced new precision manufacturing equipment to meet rising customer demand. Since the start of the project, Kinemetrix has doubled its production capacity and grown revenues by more than 50% since 2023.
The expansion includes 12 new engineering and technician roles, adding to Kinemetrix’s existing team of 43 employees. The additional operational space enhances the company’s ability to deliver robotic automation systems for EV assembly, industrial automation, and precision manufacturing.
“Since our last major expansion, we’ve continued building strong internal teams and next-generation robotic assembly technology,” said Jim Peyton, President of Kinemetrix. “It’s time to move to the next level of scale. We’re growing with our market-leading customers and expanding capacity to serve the accelerating manufacturing growth in our region.”
Community Leaders Celebrate Kinemetrix’s Local Impact
Local officials and business leaders applauded the company’s continued growth and investment in Lexington’s innovation economy.
“We work hard to create an environment that supports local businesses and job growth,” said Lexington Mayor Linda Gorton. “Congratulations to Kinemetrix, a true Lexington success story.”
“We are thrilled to celebrate this milestone for Kinemetrix,” said Bob Quick, President and CEO of Commerce Lexington. “Since 1995, Kinemetrix has delivered advanced automation solutions that help companies enhance efficiency, uptime, and productivity — strengthening both our regional and statewide economies. We’re proud they call Lexington home.”
