Defense manufacturing investment will increase production capacity at the company’s established southern Arkansas operation.
CAMDEN, Ark. — November 4, 2026 — Lockheed Martin plans to invest $420 million in its Camden manufacturing operations, creating an estimated 650 new full-time jobs over five years.
The expansion will increase production capacity for PAC-3, Terminal High Altitude Area Defense and Precision Strike Missile systems, strengthening Camden’s role in the defense manufacturing supply chain.
Investment Expands Arkansas Manufacturing Capacity
Lockheed Martin currently employs approximately 1,100 people at its Camden operation. Established in 1979, the site encompasses more than 2.2 million square feet on 2,427 acres in Highland Industrial Park.
The new investment builds on the company’s longstanding presence in southern Arkansas and will expand its local manufacturing and technical capabilities.
Workforce Development Supports Production Growth
The announcement follows the January 2026 groundbreaking for a Munitions Acceleration Center in Camden.
That center is designed to prepare workers to manufacture defense systems using advanced production methods, robotics and digital technologies.
The Arkansas Economic Development Commission and Ouachita Partnership for Economic Development welcomed the expansion, highlighting the region’s workforce and established defense industry.
