Marshall County company will build a 40,000-square-foot food manufacturing facility near its current operation
FRANKFORT, Ky. (September 25, 2026) — MegaFit Meals plans to invest $9.25 million in a new food manufacturing facility in Calvert City, Kentucky. The Marshall County expansion is expected to create 40 jobs in food manufacturing, logistics and clerical roles.
The planned 40,000-square-foot facility will be located near the company’s existing operation. MegaFit Meals said the additional space will support its continued growth and increase its ability to prepare, package and distribute meals to customers nationwide. The company currently employs more than 100 people in Kentucky.
“We are excited for MegaFit’s next stage of growth in Marshall County and pleased that it will be here in the community we call home,” said MegaFit Meals CEO Vasili Georgiou. “We have come a long way and believe the best is yet to come.”
Local Meal Prep Business Grows Into National Manufacturer
MegaFit Meals began in 2015 by preparing fresh meals for sale at local fitness facilities. The locally owned company has since grown into a Calvert City operation that manufactures and ships frozen prepared meals throughout the United States. It has remained headquartered in Marshall County as its customer base has expanded.
Gov. Andy Beshear welcomed the investment and the jobs it will bring to the region.
“I want to thank the company’s leadership for their commitment to the commonwealth and for creating new jobs for our people,” Beshear said.
Marshall County Judge/Executive Kevin Spraggs called the project an investment in the county’s workforce. Calvert City Mayor Gene Colburn said MegaFit Meals’ decision to build its next facility locally reflects the company’s longstanding ties to the community.
“MegaFit Meals is a tremendous example of what can happen when a local business has the vision and determination to grow, while remaining committed to its roots,” said Elizabeth Griffith Mudd, president of Kentucky Lake Economic Development.
The new facility will expand MegaFit Meals’ production capacity while keeping its next stage of growth in Marshall County.
