Project is part of Frederick County’s Business Friendly Initiative
Winchester, VA — New welcome signs will greet motorists as they enter Frederick County, Virginia, on U.S. Routes 11, 50, and 522, as well as Virginia State Route 7 East. The project was managed and paid for by the Frederick County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) as part of Frederick County’s Business Friendly Initiative. The signs seek to showcase Frederick County as a positive business partner and provide the community with a marketing advantage.
“A lot of thought and debate went into the welcome sign project,” commented Stan Crockett, chair of the Frederick County EDA Board of Directors. “I believe the fruit of those efforts has produced a quality product that identifies Frederick County, VA; is consistent with our branding and economic development efforts; and is visually welcoming to visitors and businesses alike.”
“Identifying Frederick County as a major player in the Commonwealth of Virginia, in reference to economic development, has been a goal of mine for many years,” said Richard Dick, past-chair of the FCEDA Board of Directors and committee member of the Business Friendly Initiative. “With the entry signs now established, there is no question as to the location of Frederick County, Virginia, and its identity of being open for business.”
Numerous local and regional partners helped to bring the project to fruition, including: Virginia Department of Transportation, Strite’s Enterprises (sign installation), Fast Signs® of Winchester (sign manufacturer), and Water St. Design (sign design services).
