Peabody Engineering LLC, a leading plastics manufacturer and second-generation family-owned business, has announced a $9.2 million expansion of its East Coast operations in Pickens County, South Carolina.
The investment will add 48,000 square feet to its Liberty facility and create 20 new jobs, reinforcing the company’s commitment to growth, innovation, and the local workforce.
Founded in California in 1952, Peabody Engineering manufactures and distributes tanks, telecommunication disguising equipment, and a range of plastic products. The company began operations in Pickens County in 2022 and has experienced rapid growth since establishing its presence in the region.
“Our operational costs are significantly lower here than in our other location, and the workforce is amazing,” said CEO Mark Peabody. “We’re excited to double the size of our manufacturing operations in Liberty and are blessed to call South Carolina our home.”
The expansion is expected to be operational by Q3 2026 and reflects Peabody Engineering’s strategic consolidation of its manufacturing footprint. The company’s facility is located at 230 Financial Blvd. in Liberty, SC.
South Carolina leaders praised the announcement as a testament to the state’s pro-business climate and skilled labor force:

The expansion was supported by the South Carolina Department of Commerce, which continues to champion business growth across the state through strategic partnerships and economic development initiatives.
