WinCo will be a wonderful addition to the city, and we are eager to share the news and look forward to this well-known and much-needed business opening in Goodyear.”
WinCo Foods is an employee-owned grocery chain known primarily for being the “Supermarket Low Price Leader.” Founded in Boise, Idaho in 1967, the iconic brand now has more than 140 stores in 10 states mainly located throughout the West Coast of the United States. The WinCo name reflects the employee ownership aspect and is abbreviated for “Winning Company.”
“WinCo Foods is thrilled to finally be breaking ground in Goodyear,” said Greg Goins, WinCo’s vice president of Real Estate. “Soon, the city will have a new WinCo and everything that comes with it: high quality groceries, the absolute lowest possible prices and employee owners from the Goodyear community. ”
The Goodyear location will have its trademark “Wall of Values” at the entrance and will offer a wide assortment of grocery items along with full produce, meat and bulk foods departments. WinCo stores also carry a variety of organic, gluten-free and natural foods items. The business accepts debit cards, checks, cash and EBT payments, but not credit cards, and shoppers bag their own groceries.
This new location will be located on the southwest corner at 15581 W. McDowell Rd. in PebbleCreek Marketplace, near Babbo Italian Eatery, Potato Barn and Panera. The new 85,675-square-foot building will be WinCo’s eighth store in Arizona and 141st store nationally. It’s anticipated to open in late 2024.
