New Spalding County hub strengthens supply chain capacity and workforce development in a top-ranked logistics state
ATLANTA, Ga. — Prime Inc. is expanding its national logistics network with a $160 million investment in a new Southeastern regional hub in Spalding County, Georgia. The project will create more than 120 full-time jobs and add over 50 professional drivers, reinforcing the state’s position as a dominant force in U.S. transportation and distribution.
Strategic Location Enhances Southeast Connectivity
The new campus, located at High Falls 16 Business Center near Griffin, will serve as a critical node in Prime’s operations, providing direct access to key customer markets across the Southeast.
Georgia continues to attract major logistics investments due to its unmatched infrastructure, including interstate connectivity, rail access, and proximity to major ports and population centers.
“Prime Inc.’s new campus will further strengthen Georgia’s $107 billion logistics industry,” said Brian Kemp. “This project highlights the continued momentum of a sector that supports jobs in every region of our state.”
State-of-the-Art Campus Designed for Growth
The Spalding County facility will feature a fully integrated logistics campus built to support both operational efficiency and workforce development. Planned components include:
- Driver training and development center
- Fleet maintenance and service operations
- Driver-focused amenities and support facilities
- Equipment sales and lifecycle management services
This holistic approach reflects a growing trend among transportation companies to invest in both infrastructure and talent pipelines simultaneously.
“Spalding County offers the strategic location and workforce environment we need to support our continued growth,” said Robert Low. “This new campus allows us to better serve our customers while creating meaningful career opportunities for our associates.”
Sustainability Integrated into Operations
Beyond logistics, the facility will incorporate environmentally responsible practices, including a large-scale tire recycling initiative. Prime currently processes more than one million used truck tires annually, converting them into reusable materials such as mulch and rubber pellets.
This aligns with broader industry trends toward sustainable supply chain operations and waste reduction.
Economic Impact for Spalding County and Metro Atlanta
Local and regional leaders emphasized the project’s long-term economic benefits, including job creation, capital investment, and enhanced industrial capacity.
“Prime’s investment delivers both immediate and long-term value to our community,” said Nat Doughie. “This is the type of project that strengthens our workforce and elevates our regional competitiveness.”
The project also reinforces metro Atlanta’s role as a logistics powerhouse in the Southeast.
“Expanding logistics infrastructure is critical to sustaining economic growth across the region,” said Katie Kirkpatrick. “Prime’s investment enhances our ability to support supply chain innovation and business expansion.”
Georgia’s Logistics Leadership Continues to Drive Investment
With logistics supporting one in nine jobs statewide, Georgia remains one of the most competitive environments in the nation for transportation and distribution operations.
“Georgia’s connectivity and access to markets make it a natural choice for companies like Prime,” said Pat Wilson. “This project further strengthens an industry that impacts every community across the state.”
The project was supported by the Georgia Department of Economic Development in partnership with regional and local economic development organizations.
