$5.1 Million Investment to Create 233 New Jobs in Colleton County
COLUMBIA, S.C. (October 23, 2025) – QMP, Inc., a California-based manufacturer of high-quality water filtration systems, announced plans to establish its first East Coast manufacturing operation in Colleton County, South Carolina. The $5.1 million investment will create 233 new jobs and strengthen the company’s U.S. production and distribution network.
Founded over 30 years ago, QMP designs and manufactures water filtration systems for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. The new 22,000-square-foot facility at 153 Anderson Road in Walterboro includes five acres for future expansion, supporting increased production capacity and faster service for East Coast customers. Operations are expected to begin in January 2026.
“While many manufacturers have moved production overseas, QMP remains deeply committed to American manufacturing,” said QMP Vice President Vanessa Vidal Forsyth. “Expanding into South Carolina allows us to continue building on more than three decades of excellence and innovation – right here in the United States.”
Governor Henry McMaster welcomed the company’s investment, noting that South Carolina’s skilled workforce and strong business climate continue to attract leading manufacturers.
“We celebrate QMP, Inc.’s investment in Colleton County and look forward to the impact these 233 new jobs will have in the community,” said McMaster.
To support the project, the Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved job development credits and awarded a $250,000 Set-Aside grant to assist with facility improvements.
Local leaders also praised QMP’s decision. Colleton County Council Chairman Scott Biering said, “We’re proud to welcome QMP to our community and look forward to a lasting partnership that creates new opportunities for local residents.”
SouthernCarolina Alliance Chairman Steve Murdaugh added, “This project showcases how small manufacturers continue to drive innovation, create jobs, and strengthen local economies across the region.”
