NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mar. 4, 2026) — Starbucks Coffee Company has selected Nashville, Tennessee, for a new Southeast corporate operations office, further expanding the company’s North American presence and strengthening its support network for coffeehouse growth across the region.
The announcement was made by Tennessee Governor Bill Lee, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter, and company officials. The office will be located in Davidson County and is expected to open later this year, working closely with Starbucks’ global headquarters in Seattle.
State leaders say the project reflects Tennessee’s growing reputation as a destination for corporate investment and strategic business expansion.
“Companies across the nation recognize that Tennessee’s strong values and fiscally conservative approach are good for business,” said Governor Bill Lee. “We are proud to welcome another Fortune 500 company like Starbucks to our state. As Starbucks continues to expand its operations, we’re grateful they’ve chosen to build a future in the Volunteer State and create quality opportunities for Tennesseans.”
Supporting Starbucks’ Growth Across North America
The Nashville office will support Starbucks’ broader strategy to expand its coffeehouse footprint and meet rising consumer demand across North America, with particular emphasis on the Southeast United States.
“Looking ahead, Starbucks has great ambitions to grow even further across North America,” said Mike Grams, Chief Operating Officer of Starbucks Coffee Company. “Nashville offers a deep, talented and growing workforce, making it an ideal location for us to establish a strategic presence in the Southeast.”
Company officials say the new office will play an important role in supporting operational planning and regional growth initiatives.
Additional details regarding staffing levels and operational timelines are expected to be released in the coming months.
Nashville’s Continued Momentum in Corporate Investment
Economic development leaders say the project reinforces Tennessee’s ability to attract major corporate operations.
“We’re excited to see Starbucks choose Tennessee as the home for this corporate office and can’t think of a better fit than the heart of Music City,” said Stuart C. McWhorter, Deputy Governor and TNECD Commissioner. “Investments like this reinforce Tennessee’s position as a destination for high-quality corporate growth and create meaningful opportunities for our workforce.”
Local officials also highlighted Nashville’s strong quality of life and expanding economic opportunities.
“We’ve been working hard to create career pathways that ensure Nashvillians can access good-paying jobs,” said Freddie O’Connell, Mayor of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County. “We’re excited to see Nashville continue attracting companies like Starbucks that recognize our strong business climate and vibrant community.”
The project was supported through collaboration between several regional partners, including the Tennessee Valley Authority, the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development.
