Expansion to create 16 jobs and generate more than $14 million in long-term economic impact
LOVINGTON, N.M. — TD’s Brew & BBQ, a Lovington-based producer of barbecue sauces and spice rubs, has been awarded state economic development assistance to support an expansion that will create 16 new full-time jobs and strengthen local manufacturing.
Administered by the New Mexico Economic Development Department (EDD), the funding will help TD’s Brew & BBQ bring production in-house, allowing the company to expand operations and generate an estimated $14 million in economic impact over the next 10 years.
“As a Lovington native, I love seeing this project bring the taste of southeast New Mexico to the rest of the country while growing good jobs at home,” said Rob Black, cabinet secretary of the New Mexico Economic Development Department. “Small businesses are what keep our rural communities thriving, and TD’s has now put Lovington on the national food map.”
Bringing Production Home to Lovington
Owned and operated by founder Tearl Dunlap, TD’s Brew & BBQ has outgrown its out-of-state co-packing facility and plans to consolidate production at its Lovington location. The expansion will allow the company to scale manufacturing while keeping operations rooted in southeast New Mexico.
To support the project, the state’s Local Economic Development Act (LEDA) fund has committed $150,000 to TD’s Brew & BBQ. The funds will be distributed as the company meets construction and hiring benchmarks tied to the expansion.
“This facility will serve as a critical manufacturing hub, bringing both our brands and out-of-state production directly into our community,” said Dunlap. “We are proud to build this in Lovington and southeast New Mexico—a region defined by a legacy of hardworking excellence and a standard of performance we intend to uphold every single day.”
Local Support and National Reach
Founded in March 2019, TD’s Brew & BBQ has grown rapidly, with products now sold in more than 600 stores nationwide, as well as through the company’s website and Amazon. In addition to sauces and rubs, the company offers co-packing, warehousing and e-commerce fulfillment services.
The City of Lovington is supporting the expansion with an additional $20,000 in local LEDA funds, is serving as fiscal agent for the project, and is providing a significant discount on the purchase of land for the new facility.
“As a Lovington native, Terrell Dunlap’s decision to expand his business here demonstrates a strong commitment to the community,” said Robbie Roberts, mayor of Lovington. “Building on the success of the spices and rubs TD is already known for, this expansion into ready-to-grill meats and additional offerings represents meaningful growth and new economic opportunity for our city.”
The expansion was approved by the Lovington City Commission in December 2025 and is expected to be completed within five years.
About the LEDA Program
The Local Economic Development Act (LEDA) program invests public funds into private companies to offset the costs of land, buildings and infrastructure, supporting job creation and long-term economic growth across New Mexico. More information is available on EDD’s website.
