Macon, Ga. (May 18, 2026) — Georgia-based precision manufacturing company Unified Legacy is expanding its footprint in Macon-Bibb County with a $125 million investment in a new manufacturing facility expected to create 500 jobs over the coming years.
The project strengthens Georgia’s growing position in advanced manufacturing and defense-related industries while supporting continued expansion in aerospace, industrial equipment and data center supply chains.
Unified Legacy manufactures complex fabricated products and precision-machined components serving defense, aerospace, industrial and data center markets. The company provides custom solutions ranging from welded assemblies and fuel storage systems to generator enclosures and ground support equipment.
State leaders said the expansion reinforces Georgia’s continued ability to support growth among homegrown companies through workforce development, logistics infrastructure and strong industry partnerships.
Gov. Brian Kemp, said: “Georgia’s manufacturing sector continues to grow because companies like Unified Legacy benefit from our strong workforce, infrastructure and partnership approach.”
Gov. Kemp added: “We are proud that this Georgia-based company is reinforcing its commitment to the people of this state through this expansion.”
The company’s new facility will be located on Barnes Ferry Road in Macon, with construction expected to begin in 2026.
Unified Legacy officials said the expansion will allow the company to increase production capacity and pursue more complex manufacturing opportunities while supporting long-term growth plans.
Eric Williams, Chief Executive Officer of Unified Legacy, said: “Georgia has been central to our growth from day one, and this investment in Macon-Bibb County reflects our confidence in the region and its workforce.”
Williams added: “As demand continues to grow, this new facility expands our capabilities, increases capacity and positions us to take on larger, more complex work.”
The company plans to hire across multiple disciplines including manufacturing, skilled trades, engineering, logistics, quality control and administrative roles.
Local leaders emphasized the broader impact the project will have on workforce development and economic opportunity throughout Middle Georgia.
Lester Miller, Mayor of Macon-Bibb County, said: “Economic development and workforce development are two of our community’s highest priorities, which is why we continue supporting the growth of existing industries.”
Miller added: “With Unified Legacy’s expansion, 500 more families will have opportunities for careers and greater economic success.”
State economic development officials also highlighted the project’s significance within Georgia’s broader manufacturing and defense ecosystem.
Pat Wilson, Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, said: “This announcement underscores the strength of Georgia’s manufacturing and defense ecosystems and the confidence companies like Unified Legacy have in building and growing here.”
Wilson noted that domestic manufacturing capabilities remain increasingly important for supply chain resilience and national security initiatives.
The project was supported through partnerships involving the Georgia Department of Economic Development, the Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority and Georgia Power.
