FRANKFORT, Ky. (Sept. 25, 2025) – Governor Andy Beshear today announced new momentum within Kentucky’s manufacturing sector as Union Coating & Chemical Industries, a global leader in advanced powder coating solutions, will establish its first U.S. operation in Barren County. The company will invest $11.9 million to construct a new facility, creating 60 full-time jobs for Kentuckians.
“Kentucky’s manufacturing sector continues to fuel our red-hot economy and create good jobs for our people,” said Gov. Beshear. “Our talented workforce, incentive programs, unique location and speed-to-market resources are helping make the commonwealth an attractive destination for companies looking to locate or expand. I am excited to welcome Union Coating & Chemical Industries to their New Kentucky Home and look forward to the company’s success in Barren County.”
First U.S. Facility
The investment includes land acquisition, construction of a new manufacturing facility, installation of advanced powder production equipment, and the establishment of R&D laboratories. The plant will initially focus on powder coating compounds, with plans to expand into additional product lines as market demand grows.
