RICHMOND, VA (October 22, 2025) — VFP, Inc., a leading manufacturer of custom enclosures that protect critical infrastructure, will invest $35 million to expand operations in Scott County, Virginia, creating 200 new jobs at its Duffield manufacturing campus. The project coincides with the company’s 60th anniversary and marks VFP’s third and largest expansion in five years.
“VFP has been a pillar of Virginia’s manufacturing strength for six decades,” said Governor Glenn Youngkin. “This expansion reflects how businesses can grow and thrive when they invest in the Commonwealth’s workforce and business climate.”
The expansion will double VFP’s production capacity to meet growing demand across the data center and utility power sectors, positioning the company to better serve global customers. Founded in 1965 and headquartered in Roanoke, Virginia, VFP produces custom concrete and metal shelters used by utilities, municipalities, and broadband providers across all 50 states and 82 countries.
“This project will create jobs, drive new investment, and strengthen the manufacturing economy of Southwest Virginia,” said Secretary of Commerce and Trade Juan Pablo Segura.
The expansion is supported by state and regional partners, including the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP), the Virginia Coalfield Economic Development Authority (VCEDA), and the Virginia Tobacco Region Revitalization Commission. Governor Youngkin approved an $800,000 Commonwealth’s Opportunity Fund grant and a $350,000 Virginia Investment Performance Grant to assist with the project. VCEDA also provided a $312,500 workforce development grant and a $3 million loan for equipment acquisition.
To support workforce training, VFP will leverage the Virginia Talent Accelerator Program, ranked the nation’s top customized workforce training initiative. Additionally, a first-of-its-kind $1 million Workforce Housing Economic Development Incentive Pilot Program will fund new housing to accommodate VFP’s growing team.
“VFP’s decision to expand in Scott County underscores our region’s skilled workforce and strong community partnerships,” said Scott County Board of Supervisors Chairman Chris Maness.
