Viega North America, a global leader in press technology for metal pipe fittings and valves, is proud to announce the grand opening of its state-of-the-art $178 million manufacturing, distribution, and training facility in Shalersville Township, Ohio, on September 4, 2025.
The 244,000-square-foot facility, located in Mantua, Portage County, marks a significant milestone in Viega’s commitment to expanding its North American operations and advancing sustainable manufacturing.
Under the leadership of Marki Huston, appointed CEO of Viega North America in January 2025, the new facility will produce Viega’s renowned ProPress and MegaPress products, serve as a critical distribution hub for the eastern United States and Canada, and provide advanced training for customers and partners. The Shalersville site is expected to create approximately 68 new jobs within its first two years, bolstering the local economy and reinforcing Viega’s role as a key employer in Northeast Ohio.

Designed with sustainability at its core, the Shalersville facility is set to operate as carbon neutral from day one, aligning with Viega’s global environmental objectives.
The project builds on recent investments in the company’s North American infrastructure, including upgrades to its McPherson, Kansas, manufacturing plant and distribution centers in Reno, Nevada, and Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
The development of the Shalersville facility was made possible through collaboration with local and state partners, including Team NEO, JobsOhio, the Portage Development Board, and the Geis Companies, which provided the Turnpike Commerce Center site. These partnerships, along with tax credit assistance, have been instrumental in bringing this transformative project to fruition.

The grand opening ceremony on September 4, 2025, will include tours of the facility, demonstrations of Viega’s press technology, and remarks from Viega leadership, local officials, and community partners.
