MORGAN CITY, La. (January, 20 2026) — Viking Attachments announced plans to expand its U.S. manufacturing footprint with the transition to full-scale production and testing operations in St. Mary Parish, strengthening domestic supply of American-made equipment for marine and infrastructure construction markets.
The company will invest $160,000 to expand production of its VMV Series vibratory pile drivers, establishing Morgan City as its primary manufacturing and testing hub. The project is expected to create 14 direct new jobs, retain two existing positions, and generate an estimated 24 indirect jobs, for a total of 38 new job opportunities across Louisiana’s Bayou Region.
Facility construction and upgrades are expected to be completed by March 2026.
Supporting Marine and Infrastructure Growth
Located at 146 Taylor Road in Morgan City, the expanded facility will support engineering, welding, assembly, painting, equipment testing, and spare-parts warehousing. The site will also accommodate increased inventory and a demonstration fleet as production scales, enhancing service response times for contractors nationwide.
“Viking Attachments’ decision to grow its manufacturing footprint in Morgan City underscores Louisiana’s ability to turn innovation into production,” said Susan B. Bourgeois, Secretary of Louisiana Economic Development. “This investment reflects the competitive conditions that allow manufacturers to scale, invest, and create long-term opportunity.”
From Pilot to National Manufacturing
Founded in 2019 by Morgan City native James Duhon, Viking Attachments initially served local companies in Louisiana’s marine and construction sectors. The current expansion marks the company’s evolution from pilot manufacturing—initiated in 2025—to full-scale domestic production.
“The decision to make Morgan City home for VMV production is both a strategic supply-chain move and a commitment to my community,” said Duhon. “By building our pile drivers in Louisiana, we can create local jobs, accelerate service response, and honor the legacy of my family’s civic service.”
Viking Attachments has already completed initial sales of its VMV Series pile drivers, with additional units currently in production.
Regional and Statewide Support
The project received a competitive incentives package from the State of Louisiana, including workforce development support through LED FastStart. Regional partners also played a key role in securing the expansion.
“We finished 2025 with significant economic development momentum, and Viking Attachments’ expansion shows that local businesses can compete and scale on a national stage,” said Sam Jones.
“This is a point of pride for St. Mary Parish,” added Evan Boudreaux. “A homegrown company expanding into national manufacturing right here in Morgan City reinforces that our region is a place where businesses can start, grow, and succeed.”
COLAB President and CEO Christy Zeringue noted the project strengthens the Bayou Region’s position as a place for long-term industrial growth.
