FORT WORTH, Texas — February 12, 2026 — Global mining technology company Weir announced plans to expand its Minerals Division headquarters in downtown Fort Worth, reinforcing the company’s long-term commitment to the city while retaining 67 existing jobs.
The expansion will include additional office space and a $3.4 million investment at the company’s headquarters located at 777 Main Street. The project is designed to enhance employee experience, accommodate potential workforce growth, and strengthen Weir’s ability to host global executives and clients at its North American hub.
Construction is expected to begin during the second half of 2026. In addition to supporting corporate operations, the expansion is projected to generate approximately 260 hotel nights annually through increased business travel, providing added economic benefits for downtown hospitality and service-sector businesses.
“We are pleased to expand the location of our Minerals Division headquarters in the heart of downtown Fort Worth,” said Phil Carey, Vice President of Finance for Weir’s Minerals Division. “Fort Worth has proven to be a dynamic and welcoming home for our business and our people. This investment reflects our confidence in the city, our commitment to our employees, and our excitement about continuing to grow alongside the community.”
The project comes at a time when office markets across the United States continue to evolve, positioning the expansion as a strategic reinvestment in one of Fort Worth’s most recognizable downtown office towers, originally constructed in 1982.
City leaders emphasized the announcement as a sign of continued momentum for downtown economic development.
“Our partnership with Weir highlights Fort Worth’s proactive and strategic approach to economic development,” said Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker. “This agreement retains quality jobs and drives additional investment in our downtown for years to come. I’m grateful to the teams at the City of Fort Worth and the Fort Worth Economic Development Partnership for their leadership in moving this project forward.”
Robert Allen, President and CEO of the Fort Worth Economic Development Partnership, added that the expansion reinforces the strength of the local business environment.
“The expansion of Weir’s downtown divisional headquarters is the latest sign that the Fort Worth business community continues to thrive,” Allen said. “This announcement not only keeps jobs in the downtown area but also delivers positive economic impact for nearby hotels and restaurants. It’s further proof that Fort Worth offers a business climate that supports both expansion and long-term success.”
