Ohio Business Magazine Announces Third Annual “Best in Ohio Business” Awards
The Wilmington Air Park has been recognized as the Best Airport in Ohio for the third year in a row by Ohio Business Magazine in its “Best in Ohio Business” Awards.
In announcing the winners, the magazine’s editors noted: “Thousands of people voted in this online competition for their favorites…[and] we are excited to celebrate these winners.”
“We consider this community home, and we want to see our home grow and succeed,” said Beth Huber, Acting Executive Director of the Clinton County Port Authority. “We work in collaboration with our economic development and community partners for the success of each of our tenants, whether they have been here for decades or have just moved in. That is what enabled us to win this award.”
Individuals from across the state voted in the online competition for their favorite businesses and organizations in 86 categories, from architectural firms and chambers of commerce to meeting and event centers and dinner locations. Voting took place between September 10 and October 2. The Wilmington Air Park utilized its presence on Twitter (@WilmingtonAirPk) and LinkedIn (@wilmington-air-park) to showcase the Air Park’s attributes and encourage people to vote.
“It is not only about making the Wilmington Air Park the Best Airport in Ohio,” added Huber, “it is about making Wilmington and Clinton County a place where all our businesses can flourish, and where people are proud to work and live.”
In the last year, the Wilmington Air Park reached 95 percent occupancy of its nearly 2.8 million square feet of tenant space. Additionally, 512 million pounds of freight was shipped through the Air Park in the 12-month period ending August 2022. This level of air cargo activity made the Wilmington Air Park Ohio’s highest-volume cargo airport, and the 25th highest-volume airport in the U.S., according to the U.S. Bureau of Transportation Statistics.
