Creating Approximately 275 Jobs
COLUMBIA, S.C. — September 17, 2025 — Woodward, Inc., a global leader in energy control solutions for aerospace and industrial markets, today announced plans to establish a new precision manufacturing operation in Spartanburg County. The company’s nearly $200 million investment will create approximately 275 new jobs and include construction of a 300,000-square-foot facility within Smith Farms Industrial Park in Greer, South Carolina.
Woodward’s new South Carolina site will produce servo-hydraulic actuation systems used in aircraft flight control and support the company’s expanding supply commitments, including work for major aircraft programs. Operations are expected to begin in 2027, with hiring information posted on Woodward’s careers page.

Founded in 1870, Woodward is a long-established global company specializing in energy conversion and control solutions for aviation, power generation, marine, transportation, and oil & gas markets. The Spartanburg investment will expand Woodward’s precision manufacturing footprint in the United States, producing critical components that enhance efficiency and reliability in demanding environments and support the company’s strategic aerospace programs.
State and Local Support
The Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved job development credits for the project and awarded a $1.75 million Closing Fund grant to Spartanburg County to assist with site preparation and building construction, reflecting public-private collaboration to accelerate project delivery and regional economic impact.
