KENNESAW, Ga. (Mar. 11, 2026) — Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. has announced plans to relocate its U.S. headquarters to Kennesaw, Georgia, marking a significant corporate shift after nearly five decades of operations in California.
The relocation process is expected to begin in 2026 and continue through 2028, further strengthening Yamaha’s longstanding manufacturing and operational footprint in the state.
A global manufacturer of motorcycles, marine engines, all-terrain vehicles, personal watercraft and other motorized products, Yamaha already maintains a substantial presence in Georgia, employing more than 2,300 workers across multiple facilities.
Central to the company’s U.S. operations is the 1.3-million-square-foot Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Corporation of America plant in Newnan, which opened in 1986 and supports large-scale production of recreational vehicles. Yamaha has also expanded its marine operations in Kennesaw, including the development of a Marine Innovation Center in recent years.
The decision to relocate the U.S. headquarters reflects the company’s strategy to align corporate leadership more closely with its manufacturing, engineering and product development operations in the Southeast.
Company leaders noted that Georgia’s logistics connectivity, workforce capabilities and established industry ecosystem were key considerations in the decision.
Yamaha has continued to consolidate and expand U.S. operations in the state over the past decade, including the relocation of its motorsports division to Georgia to enhance collaboration across business units.
Founded in 1955 and headquartered in Iwata, Japan, Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. is a global producer of mobility and marine technologies, as well as power equipment and robotics solutions, serving markets worldwide.
