South Korean aluminum manufacturer to invest nearly $110 million and create 285 new jobs in West Tennessee
HALLS, Tenn. — Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, Deputy Gov. and Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD) Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter, and officials with ALUKO Group announced the company will establish its second U.S. manufacturing facility in Halls, Tennessee, further strengthening the state’s advanced manufacturing and clean energy supply chain.
ALUKO Group plans to invest $107.7 million to locate its integrated aluminum manufacturing operations in the former Tupperware facility in Lauderdale County. The project will create 285 new jobs and support the company’s growing customer base across the electric vehicle (EV), solar energy, construction and building materials sectors. Once complete, the retrofitted facility will significantly expand ALUKO Group’s U.S. production capabilities.
Based in South Korea, ALUKO Group includes ALUKO, Hyundai Aluminium, Gogang Aluminium, Alutec, KPTU, Hyundai Aluminium Vina and Alutec Vina. The announcement marks the company’s second Tennessee investment in the past year. In December 2024, ALUKO Group announced plans to establish its first U.S. manufacturing operation in Jackson, Tennessee.
Since Gov. Lee took office in 2019, South Korea has become Tennessee’s top foreign direct investment partner, with companies investing more than $13 billion statewide during this administration.
