The Myrtle Beach area is experiencing significant economic growth, with major corporations like Amazon and Pepsi Bottling Ventures establishing a strong presence in the region.
Amazon’s new 165,000-square-foot Same-Day Delivery facility in North Myrtle Beach, located
within the Palmetto Coast Industrial Park, began operations in late 2024. This facility enhances delivery speeds and creates job opportunities, contributing to the area’s economic diversification.
Similarly, Pepsi Bottling Ventures has relocated its operations from Conway to a state-of-the-art 164,850-square-foot distribution center in North Myrtle Beach, also situated in the Palmetto Coast Industrial Park. This $15 million investment not only retains over 140 existing jobs but also adds 27 new positions, underscoring the company’s commitment to the local community.
The Palmetto Coast Industrial Park has been pivotal for companies that require easy access to the region’s major transportation corridors, including SC Highway 31, SC Highway 22, and Interstate 95. Already home to two well-known businesses, Amazon and Pepsi, the park has plans to accommodate six more.
These developments signify a shift in Myrtle Beach’s identity, highlighting its transformation from a seasonal tourist destination to a thriving hub for commerce and industry. The influx of such prominent companies is expected to stimulate further economic growth, attract additional businesses, and provide year-round employment opportunities, solidifying Myrtle Beach’s status as a dynamic and diversified economic center.
