FRANKFORT, Ky. (May 4, 2026) – Global printing consumables manufacturer ARMOR-IIMAK will expand its Boone County, Kentucky, operations with a nearly $6 million investment, creating 44 new jobs and increasing its total employment in the state to more than 100.
The project will enhance the company’s manufacturing capabilities to meet rising customer demand while consolidating select production volumes from its global network. The expansion includes facility upgrades, installation of new equipment and workforce growth across manufacturing, technical and support roles.
Gov. Andy Beshear said the investment underscores Kentucky’s continued economic momentum and the strength of its manufacturing sector.
“Companies choosing to reinvest in Kentucky are a key driver of our state’s economic success,” Beshear said. “This expansion reflects the advantages of our business climate, our skilled workforce and the strong collaboration between state and local partners. We are excited to see ARMOR-IIMAK grow in Boone County and create new high-quality jobs.”
ARMOR-IIMAK is the North American division of the France-based ARMOR Group, a global leader in thermal transfer ribbons, labels and digital printing consumables. The Boone County facility produces thermal transfer ribbons used across a wide range of industries, including logistics, retail, healthcare and packaging.
Ryan Heitkamp, COO of ARMOR-IIMAK, said the expansion reinforces the company’s long-term commitment to Kentucky.
“We are proud to expand our presence in Boone County and appreciate the support from the commonwealth and local partners,” Heitkamp said. “This investment allows us to increase production capacity, better serve our customers and create meaningful career opportunities for the local workforce.”
Local and regional leaders also welcomed the announcement, noting the project’s impact on the broader Northern Kentucky economy.
Boone County Judge/Executive Gary Moore said the expansion signals strong confidence in the region’s business environment.
“When a company significantly grows its workforce and invests in new equipment, it speaks volumes about the strength of our community,” Moore said. “These new roles will provide valuable opportunities across production, engineering, logistics and administrative functions for residents in Kentucky and the surrounding region.”
Lee Crume, President and CEO of BE NKY Growth Partnership, highlighted the company’s long-standing presence in the region.
“ARMOR-IIMAK has been a valued part of Northern Kentucky’s business community for decades,” Crume said. “This expansion reflects the strength of our partnerships and our ability to support global companies as they grow and innovate.”
ARMOR-IIMAK’s investment will bring 65 total new jobs to the region and further position Boone County as a competitive location for advanced manufacturing operations.
