Aerospace and defense company will create 78 jobs in Fairfax County and establish a mission integration center supporting national security technologies.
RICHMOND, VA (October 28, 2026) — Auria, a national security and aerospace defense company, will invest $1.8 million to establish its first East Coast headquarters in Reston, Virginia. The Fairfax County expansion will create 78 new jobs and strengthen the company’s access to government and commercial customers across Northern Virginia.
The new facility will include a mission integration center where Auria employees can develop, test, demonstrate and integrate advanced command, control and mission integration capabilities. The Reston location will complement the company’s existing operations in Warrenton.
Northern Virginia Expansion Supports Customer Collaboration
Auria’s growing presence in Northern Virginia places the company near federal customers, commercial partners and a workforce experienced in aerospace, defense and space technology.
“Northern Virginia is rapidly becoming Auria’s largest employment footprint, making Reston the natural choice to complement our existing Warrenton operations and serve as our East Coast headquarters,” said Auria Chief Executive Officer Damian DiPippa.
The new headquarters will support closer collaboration with customers and partners while expanding the company’s capacity to deliver technologies for national security missions.
“We are proud to welcome Auria’s East Coast headquarters to Fairfax,” said Governor Abigail Spanberger. “Auria’s decision to expand its presence in the Commonwealth reflects confidence in our business environment, strategic location, and our continued support of innovative aerospace and defense companies. My Administration looks forward to a longstanding partnership with Auria as the company expands, creates dozens of new jobs for Virginians, and advances technologies that support our national security.”
Space, Satellite Communications and Missile Defense Capabilities
Formed in 2024 through the merger of several national security and space technology firms, Auria provides capabilities supporting space operations, satellite communications, space domain awareness, missile defense and cybersecurity.
The company serves government, commercial and international customers. Its specialties include command, control and communications software; satellite scheduling and mission planning; and data-driven systems designed to support precise, secure and resilient operation of space assets.
The Reston mission integration center will provide additional space for teams working on these capabilities and strengthen Auria’s presence within Fairfax County’s aerospace and defense industry.
Secretary of Commerce and Trade Carrie H. Chenery said the headquarters will position Auria closer to customers and partners shaping space, satellite and mission systems while adding employment opportunities to Northern Virginia’s innovation economy.
Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Chairman Jeffrey C. McKay welcomed the expansion, highlighting the region’s space and defense ecosystem, talent base and proximity to federal partners. Senator Jennifer Boysko and Delegate Karen Keys-Gamarra also welcomed Auria’s investment and the new jobs it will bring to Reston.
Virginia Jobs Investment Program to Support Hiring and Training
The Virginia Economic Development Partnership worked with the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority to secure the project for Virginia.
Auria’s job creation will receive support through the Virginia Jobs Investment Program, which provides consultative services and funding to qualifying companies for employee recruitment and training activities.
The state-funded program helps reduce human resource costs for new and expanding businesses while supporting job opportunities throughout the Commonwealth.
