Waco, TX — Coca-Cola Refreshments receives tax abatement incentive through the expansion of its Waco, Texas presence with a $13.3 million investment of a new blow-molding line for in-house production of bottles within its facility in the Texas Central Park. The facility will retain 327 permanent, full-time positions.
In addition to Coca-Cola establishing its first Waco manufacturing facility in 1995, Coca-Cola Enterprises constructed a 50,000-square-foot regional distribution center to supply the central Texas market in 2007. The expanded operations are a result of the company's continued growth in product demand and a long-established partnership with the city of Waco, McLennan County and the Waco Industrial Foundation.
"McLennan County is fortunate to have companies like Coca-Cola that want to invest here," said Judge Scott Felton, McLennan County Judge. "I believe this is due to having a great workforce that takes ownership in what they produce."
"It is refreshing to see the commitment to safety and innovation that Coke has brought to Waco," said Dale Fisseler, City of Waco Manager.
The site also received a Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) certification as a STAR worksite in November from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), making it the fourth facility in Waco to receive the designation for its commitment to implementing effective safety and health management systems.
