Creating New Pipeline of Opportunity for Louisiana Businesses
BATON ROUGE, La. – September 16, 2025 – Governor Jeff Landry announced a comprehensive suite of business growth initiatives aimed at strengthening Louisiana’s economy, empowering local companies, and positioning the state as one of the nation’s most competitive destinations for investment.
Since taking office, Governor Landry has celebrated billions of dollars in new investments, thousands of jobs created, and some of the largest economic development wins in Louisiana’s history. With this latest announcement, the Governor emphasized that Louisiana is doubling down on economic momentum by expanding support for homegrown businesses and accelerating project delivery.
“From day one, I promised this administration would put Louisiana businesses first, and today we are delivering on that promise,” said Governor Landry. “These initiatives give our companies the tools, visibility, and support they need to compete and win. When Louisiana businesses succeed, Louisiana thrives.”
The announcement, delivered at Louisiana Economic Development’s (LED) new headquarters, introduces four cornerstone initiatives:
- Source Louisiana – A new statewide online business directory (SourceLouisiana.com) that connects Louisiana-based companies with major projects and contractors. Businesses can showcase their services, certifications, and capabilities, ensuring they are included in the pipeline of new opportunities.
- Driving Louisiana Opportunity Tour – LED Secretary Susan B. Bourgeois and her leadership team will conduct a multi-stop statewide tour, meeting directly with Louisiana companies to listen to business needs, spotlight local economic drivers, and advance LED’s record-setting goal of 800 business retention and expansion visits this fiscal year.
- Project Lightning Speed – Governor Landry’s new Executive Order establishes a streamlined, interagency approach to fast-track major projects. By improving coordination across state agencies and appointing cabinet-level liaisons, Louisiana is ensuring projects move at the speed of business.
- Ensuring Louisiana Participation – A new review of state incentive programs designed to strengthen Louisiana vendor participation. Future incentive projects may include requirements for documented local business involvement, further ensuring that taxpayer-supported initiatives directly benefit Louisiana companies.
“These efforts come directly from LED’s strategic plan and our 9×90 Workplan, which are designed to put Louisiana businesses at the center of our growth strategy,” said LED Secretary Susan B. Bourgeois. “By collaborating with regional partners, we are ensuring Louisiana companies have every opportunity to grow, lead, and compete in global markets.”
Louisiana’s Growing Economic Momentum
Governor Landry’s announcement builds on Louisiana’s position as a national leader in manufacturing, clean energy, logistics, agribusiness, and advanced technology. With its highly skilled workforce, strategic location, and aggressive business-friendly policies, Louisiana continues to attract major employers while empowering small and mid-sized businesses to scale and thrive.
