Applications for infrastructure and site-readiness projects open Oct. 1 and close Dec. 1
BATON ROUGE, La. (September 17, 2026) — Louisiana Economic Development (LED) has announced the second round of the Louisiana FastSites program, making $50 million available for infrastructure and site-improvement projects designed to strengthen communities and attract new economic development opportunities across the state.
The Round II application period will open Oct. 1, 2026, and close Dec. 1, 2026.
Competitive projects must be development-ready and capable of beginning construction within nine months. Applications must also include matching funds and demonstrate a viable path to repayment.
“FastSites is changing how Louisiana prepares for economic development by investing before infrastructure becomes a barrier,” said LED Chief Economic Competitiveness Officer Ileana Ledet. “The first round showed the demand from communities ready to move critical site and infrastructure projects forward, and Round II builds on that progress by helping more communities put the infrastructure in place to compete for future projects.”
Louisiana FastSites Supports Shovel-Ready Development
Louisiana FastSites is backed by the $200 million Site Investment and Infrastructure Fund, established by the Louisiana Legislature to support strategic site development throughout the state.
The program’s inaugural funding round advanced projects that expanded development-ready acreage, improved transportation access and utility infrastructure, and positioned sites to accommodate business expansions and new capital investment.
By investing before infrastructure becomes an obstacle, FastSites helps reduce the time, cost and risk associated with preparing properties for economic development projects.
The program pairs state funding with local or private investment and requires applicants to demonstrate a path to repayment. Repaid funds can then be reinvested in future site-development opportunities, extending the long-term impact of the state’s investment.
