CDL training expansion at Great Basin College also receives WINN funding to strengthen workforce pipeline
CARSON CITY, Nev. — Nevada economic developers continue to attract high-value investment and advanced industries, as the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) approved $27.2 million in tax abatements tied to projects expected to deliver $340.8 million in capital investment, 352 new jobs and more than $84 million in new tax revenue over the next decade.
The approved companies, located in Washoe, Lyon and Storey counties, represent growth in advanced manufacturing, clean energy recycling and data center development — key sectors in Nevada’s economic diversification strategy.
“These projects strengthen regional economies while delivering statewide benefits,” said Governor Joe Lombardo. “Today’s approvals emphasize quality jobs and long-term economic impact, and these investments are projected to generate more than $84 million in state revenue over the next 10 years.”
Advanced Manufacturing and Technology Projects Drive Growth
Amperesand, Inc. — Reno (Washoe County)
Amperesand will establish a new manufacturing facility focused on advanced solid-state transformers, a technology supporting grid modernization and energy efficiency.

Workforce Investment Supports Logistics Sector
Beyond project abatements, the GOED board approved $630,962 from the Workforce Innovations for a New Nevada (WINN) fund for a CDL Training Expansion Program at Great Basin College.
The funding will support new, state-of-the-art training equipment to meet employer demand in transportation and logistics. Industry partners include Pilot Thomas Logistics, Redi Services and Capurro Trucking’s Mining Division.
“Employer input is critical to aligning training with industry needs,” said GOED Workforce Development Director Elaine Silverstone. “This CDL program is designed with economic development in mind and directly supports key industries identified in Nevada’s state plan.”

Established in 2011, GOED leads statewide efforts to diversify Nevada’s economy, attract capital investment and support business expansion. The latest approvals reflect Nevada’s continued momentum in landing technology-driven and infrastructure-intensive projects while building a skilled workforce pipeline.
