DENHAM SPRINGS, La. (November 6, 2025) — Pipe & Steel Industrial Fabricators, Inc., a family-owned industrial construction company serving the Gulf Coast region, has announced a $5.1 million facility expansion in Livingston Parish, Louisiana. This marks the company’s second major growth initiative in just two years, underscoring its continued commitment to advancing Louisiana’s industrial manufacturing and fabrication capabilities.
The expansion is expected to create 20 direct new jobs with an average annual salary of $62,400 — 139% above the average wage in Livingston Parish — while retaining 70 existing employees. In addition, the project will generate 36 indirect jobs, bringing the total new employment impact to 56 positions in the Capital Region.
Expanding Louisiana’s Manufacturing Capacity
“This expansion shows the strength of Louisiana’s manufacturing foundation and our administration’s commitment to helping businesses grow and succeed,” said Louisiana Economic Development (LED) Secretary Susan B. Bourgeois. “When a company invests not once, but twice in as many years, it demonstrates the value of Louisiana’s skilled workforce and collaborative business environment.”
Pipe & Steel’s new investment aligns with LED’s “Driving Louisiana Opportunity” tour, a statewide initiative spotlighting local employers that fuel community development and job creation.
The expansion includes a new steel processing center and upgrades to existing fabrication facilities with advanced beam-cutting and processing equipment. These improvements will increase efficiency, safety, and production capacity while positioning the company to handle a growing number of industrial and emergency fabrication projects across the Gulf Coast.
Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2026 and is expected to be complete by June 2026.
Commitment to Workforce and Community Growth
“Pipe & Steel sits at the epicenter of Louisiana’s best industrial labor pool — Livingston Parish,” said Kylie Sparks, President and CEO of Pipe & Steel Industrial Fabricators. “We’re investing in advanced fabrication technology to support our workforce and clients, ensuring we remain leaders in safety, efficiency, and innovation. This expansion will strengthen our ability to deliver top-tier fabrication services for the Greater Baton Rouge and Gulf South regions.”
The company’s previous 2023 expansion added 8,000 square feet to its structural steel shop, 14,000 square feet to its pipe fabrication facility, and included a covered blasting and painting area, laying the foundation for this next phase of growth.
Livingston Parish President Randy Delatte praised the company’s continued investment
“It’s always great to see one of our local companies growing and continuing to invest right here at home. Pipe & Steel Industrial has been an incredible community partner, and this new expansion brings more jobs and opportunity for our residents.”
Louisiana’s Competitive Advantage
To secure the project in Denham Springs, Louisiana offered a competitive incentive package that includes LED FastStart® workforce development, $200,000 in infrastructure support from the Economic Development Award Program (EDAP), and access to the Industrial Tax Exemption and High Impact Jobs programs.
Lori Melancon, President and CEO of the Greater Baton Rouge Economic Partnership, added:
“Pipe & Steel Industrial Fabricators exemplifies how Louisiana’s industrial network supports sustainable business growth. Their second major expansion in two years reflects strong demand, access to skilled labor, and the pro-business environment of our region.”
