OTTAWA & IROQUOIS, Ontario (May 21, 2026) — Global live production technology company Ross Video will invest $122.5 million to expand manufacturing and research and development operations across its Ontario facilities, strengthening the province’s advanced technology and media innovation ecosystem while creating 125 high-skilled jobs.
The expansion, supported by Invest Ontario, will add engineering, manufacturing and R&D positions over multiple years and support development of next-generation media processing technologies designed to meet growing global demand for flexible, software-defined broadcast solutions.
Invest Ontario is backing the project with strategic support and a conditional grant of up to $6 million through the Invest Ontario Fund, pending completion of a definitive agreement. Beyond financial assistance, the agency also worked with the company to connect workforce, training and ecosystem partners throughout the province.
The investment is expected to further strengthen Ontario’s position in advanced broadcast technology, digital media innovation and high-value manufacturing.
Ross Video serves customers in more than 110 countries and generates approximately 93% of its sales through exports, making the company a significant contributor to Canada’s international technology footprint. Company officials said the expansion builds upon the strengths of Eastern Ontario’s technology corridor, leveraging the region’s engineering talent, research capabilities, manufacturing supply chains and digital media network.
The investment will also support continued advancement of the company’s proprietary Ultrix platform, which consolidates multiple broadcast functions into a unified software-defined system for live production environments.
“Ontario has been an important part of Ross Video’s growth and innovation story for decades,” said Troy English, Chief Technology Officer of Ross Video. “This investment will help accelerate the next generation of Ultrix with expanded AI-enabled capabilities, greater flexibility and increased processing performance, while continuing to invest in Ontario talent, innovation and manufacturing.”
Provincial and local leaders said the project demonstrates Ontario’s ability to retain and scale homegrown technology companies while creating opportunities for highly skilled workers.
“Ross Video is a true, homegrown success story that speaks not only to the high calibre of Ontario-made technologies but to the resilience of our workforce and investment landscape,” said Hon. Vic Fedeli, Ontario Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade. “Through their expanded footprint in Ottawa and Iroquois, Ross Video will continue to unlock new opportunities for Eastern Ontario’s highly skilled workforce and reinforce the province’s global leadership in advanced manufacturing and technology innovation.”
Local officials also pointed to the broader impact on the region’s innovation economy.
“Ross Video is one of Ottawa’s great success stories,” said Mark Sutcliffe, Mayor of Ottawa. “This investment means more good-paying jobs, more innovation and more confidence in Ottawa as a city where technology companies can grow and succeed.”
Officials from Invest Ontario noted that the company’s growth aligns with broader efforts to attract and scale advanced technology investments across the province.
“Ross Video’s expansion is an important milestone for Ontario’s media technology sector,” said Khawar Nasim, Chief Executive Officer of Invest Ontario. “Through the Invest Ontario Fund and the agency’s support services, we help companies coordinate growth plans and connect with the resources needed to scale successfully.”
The project reinforces continuing investment in emerging technologies and advanced manufacturing capabilities while positioning Ontario for future growth in AI-enabled media and digital production technologies.
