TEXARKANA, USA (Feb. 4, 2026) — TexAmericas Center, one of the nation’s largest mixed-use industrial parks, has received a USDA Rural Business Development Grant (RBDG) to support feasibility studies and technical assistance aimed at accelerating business recruitment, private investment and job creation across the Texarkana region.
The federal funding will help TexAmericas Center reduce entry barriers for small and emerging companies in targeted industries by supporting early-stage planning, feasibility analysis and hands-on technical assistance. The initiative is designed to shorten site selection timelines, improve project certainty and enhance regional competitiveness.
“This USDA investment allows us to support employers earlier in their decision-making process and move projects forward faster,” said Scott Norton, Executive Director and CEO of TexAmericas Center. “By investing in feasibility work and technical assistance, we help companies reach operational status sooner while driving quality jobs and private investment into the region.”
Strengthening a Rural Economic Engine
The USDA’s Rural Business Development Grant program is a competitive initiative focused on strengthening rural economies through business development and community planning efforts. At TexAmericas Center, the funding will be used to expand support services for companies considering or launching operations in the multi-state Texarkana market.
Over time, RBDG-supported programs may grow to include collaboration with local colleges and workforce boards to develop targeted training programs, as well as export readiness and cybersecurity support for rural manufacturers seeking to scale.
Economic developers note that these types of services can play a critical role in helping rural communities compete for advanced manufacturing, logistics and industrial projects.
A Nationally Recognized Industrial Platform
Located on the Texas side of the Texarkana metro, TexAmericas Center controls approximately 12,000 development-ready acres and 3.5 million square feet of commercial and industrial space, serving Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.
The organization operates with the authority of a jurisdictional entity, enabling it to streamline permitting and development processes and reduce public review timelines by an estimated 12–18 months — a key advantage for speed-to-occupancy projects.
TexAmericas Center has earned consistent national recognition for site readiness and infrastructure, including multiple top-10 industrial park rankings and designation as a premier location for complex industrial projects.
Logistics and Infrastructure Advantages
The park’s multimodal logistics platform includes:
- Access to multiple interstate and highway corridors
- Air freight connectivity
- Seven converging rail lines
- An on-site 350-car rail yard
- More than 30 miles of rail infrastructure
- Transload, storage and railcar spotting services
- Third-party logistics (3PL) capabilities
TexAmericas Center also supports flexible leasing, build-to-suit and greenfield development options, giving tenants multiple pathways to market entry.
All properties within TexAmericas Center are located in designated incentive zones, including Opportunity Zones, Foreign Trade Zone #258 and other federal and state programs that can support project financing.
