ATLANTA, Georgia – October 1, 2025 – Governor Brian P. Kemp today announced that Underwood Ammo will build a new advanced manufacturing and assembly facility in Effingham County. The company will invest $41 million and create 120 new jobs, further strengthening Georgia’s reputation as a leader in advanced manufacturing and defense-related industries.
“Georgia is the nation’s premier destination for manufacturers, including the defense and sporting sectors,” said Governor Brian Kemp. “This sector has made several key investments in our state in recent years, with companies like Underwood Ammo creating quality jobs and investing in communities like Effingham County.”
Strategic Expansion in Effingham County
Underwood Ammo’s new facility will be located at Savannah Portside International Park, a prime industrial site with direct access to Georgia’s world-class logistics infrastructure. Construction is expected to begin in 2026, with hiring for operations, maintenance, and assembly positions to start in 2027.
