COLUMBIA, S.C. (Mar. 26, 2026) — AVM Group, a national provider of turnkey controlled environments, announced plans to establish its new national headquarters in Charleston County. The company’s $5 million investment will create 30 new jobs and support continued growth in advanced controlled-environment technologies.
Founded in 1983, AVM Group specializes in the design, engineering and installation of highly specialized environments, including cleanrooms, dry rooms, sensitive compartmented information facilities (SCIFs), and advanced electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radiation shielding systems. The company’s new 12,000-square-foot headquarters will be located on Wingo Way in Mount Pleasant.
The facility will serve as the company’s primary hub for design, engineering and research and development activities related to controlled environment construction projects nationwide. Operations in South Carolina will also complement specialized manufacturing and operational functions currently conducted at AVM Group’s existing facility in Ohio.
Operations at the new headquarters are expected to begin in 2027.
State and local officials noted the project’s alignment with South Carolina’s continued efforts to attract advanced technology and innovation-driven industries. The Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved job development credits for the project, as well as a $200,000 Set-Aside grant to Charleston County to assist with site preparation and construction costs.
AVM Group CEO Trip Textoris said the new headquarters represents a strategic step forward for the company’s long-term growth, providing a collaborative environment designed to support innovation while prioritizing sustainable building practices and environmental stewardship.
Governor Henry McMaster welcomed the investment, highlighting its positive impact on job creation and economic opportunity in the Lowcountry. Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III emphasized the project’s contribution to one of the state’s expanding industries, while Charleston County Council Chairman Joe Boykin noted the region’s strong business climate and workforce advantages.
Mount Pleasant Mayor Will Haynie also underscored the project’s benefits, pointing to the creation of high-quality jobs, private investment and thoughtful development that includes public amenities such as a walking trail and pocket park.
