ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (May 20, 2026) — Albuquerque-based Eden Pharmacy is expanding its operations with a $2.7 million investment designed to strengthen New Mexico’s specialty pharmacy sector, creating more than 56 jobs over the next decade and further advancing the region’s role in personalized healthcare and life sciences.
The project, announced by Economic Development New Mexico (EDNM) and the City of Albuquerque, includes converting Eden’s existing facility into a state-of-the-art compounding center equipped with advanced automation technologies and enhanced production capabilities. Company officials said the investment is expected to create 45 high-paying positions within the next two years, with additional hiring planned over the coming decade.
The expansion is projected to generate approximately $78 million in economic impact over a 10-year period, with new positions averaging annual salaries of approximately $69,197.
State officials said the project reflects broader momentum across New Mexico’s healthcare and innovation sectors.
“This project extends the economic development growth we’re seeing across New Mexico into healthcare and life sciences,” said Economic Development Cabinet Secretary Rob Black. “By combining advanced technology with a highly skilled workforce, Eden is creating quality jobs while strengthening Albuquerque’s role as a center for personalized medicine.”
Eden executives said the expansion will support both company growth and increased patient demand for customized medications.
“Delivering on our mission requires exceptional talent and a strong community,” said Adam McBride, CEO of Eden Pharmacy. “Albuquerque has provided both, and this expansion allows us to create more career opportunities while continuing to serve patients nationwide.”
Daniel Dietz, Eden’s COO, said the company’s continued investment in New Mexico aligns with the region’s workforce strengths and long-term growth potential.
“We’re investing here because of the talent and opportunities available in Albuquerque,” Dietz said. “Our goal is to build a company that advances precision medicine while creating meaningful careers locally.”
The upgraded facility will support patients and healthcare providers who rely on patient-specific medications while expanding the region’s specialty pharmacy capabilities. Hiring has already begun, with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians among the initial positions being filled.
Mayor Tim Keller said the expansion highlights Albuquerque’s growing healthcare innovation ecosystem.
“Eden is creating new jobs while strengthening Albuquerque’s role in healthcare innovation,” Keller said. “Investments like this support long-term economic growth and strengthen our community.”
The project is receiving support through New Mexico’s Local Economic Development Act (LEDA), including a $300,000 performance-based award from the state and an additional $100,000 contribution from the City of Albuquerque.
Eden has also been approved for assistance through New Mexico’s Job Training Incentive Program (JTIP), which will help support training efforts for 31 new positions.
The announcement follows Eden’s acquisition of Contigo Compounding Pharmacy in 2025, building on previous state-supported investments that generated measurable economic returns and positioned the company for continued growth.
Regional leaders said the expansion further demonstrates the strength of Greater Albuquerque’s business climate and life sciences sector.
“This investment is another example of the growth and innovation taking place across Greater Albuquerque,” said Chad Matheson, president and CEO of the Albuquerque Regional Economic Alliance. “We look forward to Eden’s continued success in the region.”
