ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Fuller Technologies has officially established its global headquarters in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley, marking a return to the region where the company’s roots in cement and industrial equipment manufacturing began nearly a century ago. The headquarters is located in Hanover Township, Lehigh County, near Allentown.
Formerly operating as FLSmidth Cement, Fuller Technologies was created following its acquisition last year by Pacific Avenue Capital Partners and subsequent rebrand. Since then, the company has reorganized its global operations and selected the Lehigh Valley as its central leadership hub.
The company also recently opened a 122,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Allen Township and is actively seeking to grow its workforce there, targeting experienced manufacturing professionals as well as individuals pursuing careers in industrial equipment production.
Manufacturing Strength and Global Reach
Fuller Technologies produces and services pumps, compressors, rotary feeders and specialized industrial equipment serving a wide range of industries, including:
- Cement production
- Refineries and liquefied petroleum gas terminals
- Wastewater treatment
- Cold storage operations
- Bulk materials handling and minerals processing
The company currently employs approximately 200 workers in the Lehigh Valley across its headquarters and manufacturing operations. Globally, Fuller Technologies has around 2,000 employees and plans to add 165 additional positions worldwide in the coming year.
Despite establishing its global headquarters in Pennsylvania, the company maintains a strong international presence, including key operations and newly opened offices in India and Denmark.
Returning to Historic Roots
The Fuller name carries deep historical ties to the region. The company traces its origins to 1926, when Colonel James Wheeler Fuller III founded the Fuller-Lehigh Company in the Lehigh Valley, a region long known for cement production. The business was later acquired by FLSmidth in 1990 before returning to independent operation under the Fuller Technologies name.
Among its signature innovations is the Fuller-Kinyon® Pump, a pneumatic transfer system that uses air to move pulverized materials through pipelines. The technology was originally developed in the Lehigh Valley during World War I by Alonzo Kinyon and became a foundational advancement in safe bulk material handling.
Today, Fuller equipment supports more than half of the world’s cement plants outside of China. While cement remains its core market, the company continues to expand into lime, minerals and broader bulk materials handling sectors.
Lehigh Valley’s Competitive Advantage
Regional leaders highlight the Lehigh Valley’s strong manufacturing base, skilled workforce and strategic Northeast location as major assets for global companies.
“Lehigh Valley has the workforce to fuel global companies like Fuller Technologies, in a strategic location in the Northeast, with an exceptional quality of life that provides both personal and professional opportunities,” said Kristin Cahayla-Hoffman, Vice President of Business Development & Attraction at the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation.
The Lehigh Valley ranks among the top U.S. manufacturing markets based on gross domestic product and is home to numerous corporate headquarters, including Fortune 500 companies and globally recognized brands.
Leadership Perspective
“Fuller Technologies is proud to be a global company while returning to its deep roots in Pennsylvania’s industrial heritage with the relocation of its headquarters to the USA,” said Fuller Technologies CEO Dennis Cassidy. “The Lehigh Valley shaped our identity and capabilities, and we are proud to be part of its future.”
Cassidy emphasized workforce development as a priority as the company scales operations.
“We are committed to creating quality employment opportunities here in Pennsylvania as we expand our operating presence in the key American cement market. With many manufacturers facing challenges in attracting skilled workers, workforce development is a strategic priority for us,” he said.
