Governor Youngkin Joins Ribbon Cutting;
Newly renovated 254,000-square-foot headquarters anchors a transformative mixed-use redevelopment in Henrico County
HENRICO, Va. — November 13, 2025 — Kinsale Capital Group, Inc. (NYSE: KNSL) hosted Governor Glenn Youngkin, Virginia Secretary of Commerce and Trade Juan Pablo Segura, members of the Henrico County Board of Supervisors, County Manager John Vithoulkas, the Henrico Economic Development Authority, and regional partners for a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the completion of Phase 1 of the Kinsale Center redevelopment and the official opening of the company’s expanded headquarters.
The milestone concludes a substantial renovation of the former Anthem building at 2025 Staples Mill Road, delivering approximately 254,000 square feet of modernized office and commercial space. The reimagined facility serves as the new headquarters for more than 700 employees, positioning Kinsale for continued growth in Henrico County.
Phase 1 is the foundation of a broader, estimated $500 million mixed-use redevelopment across nearly 30 acres. Future phases are planned to include a multi-story hotel, luxury apartments, additional office buildings, and a structured parking deck, transforming the former surface parking areas into a vibrant, walkable district.
A Modern Headquarters Designed for Collaboration and Growth
The renovation converted a 1960s-era structure into a state-of-the-art corporate office featuring a new glass façade, expansive natural light, and a fully redesigned interior focused on productivity and innovation. The headquarters creates a collaborative, flexible environment designed to support Kinsale’s continued expansion within the specialty insurance market.
“Kinsale’s new headquarters signals the beginning of an exciting next chapter for our company,” said Michael P. Kehoe, Chairman and CEO. “This milestone, achieved through close collaboration with our development partners and strong support from Henrico County, lays the foundation for continued growth and innovation. Beyond serving as our new home, this project will anchor a larger development that brings new hospitality and commercial amenities to the community.”
A Catalyst for Economic Development in Henrico County
Local leaders emphasized the redevelopment’s alignment with countywide priorities to modernize office and commercial space and strengthen the region’s economic competitiveness.
“Transforming an aging office building into a sleek, modern headquarters for over 700 employees not only aligns with our Henrico Tomorrow initiative but brings new energy to the community,” said Daniel J. Schmitt, Chair of the Board of Supervisors and Brookland District Supervisor. “This sets the stage for the remaining phases of the bold, innovative Kinsale Center redevelopment and reinforces Henrico as a hub for business growth.”
Governor Youngkin Highlights Virginia’s Competitive Advantage
Governor Youngkin recognized the project as an example of what can be accomplished through strong public-private partnerships and a pro-business climate.
“Kinsale’s investment demonstrates why companies are choosing Virginia to expand and innovate,” Youngkin said, noting that the redevelopment underscores the Commonwealth’s commitment to supporting high-growth industries and vibrant commercial centers.
