Advanced carbon composites manufacturer to invest $17.5 million and create 50 new jobs in Greer
COLUMBIA, S.C. (Mar. 19, 2026) — United Composite Materials, LLC (United Composite Materials), a manufacturer specializing in advanced carbon composite materials, has announced plans to establish its first South Carolina operation in Greenville County. The company’s $17.5 million investment is expected to create 50 new jobs and strengthen the region’s growing advanced manufacturing ecosystem.
The new facility will be located at 1446 S. Buncombe Road in Greer, where the company will utilize two existing buildings as specialized production sites. The operation will supply advanced carbon composite materials to the North American sports and leisure markets, supporting increasing demand for lightweight, high-performance materials across multiple industries.
Operations at the Greenville County site are expected to begin in July 2026.
State and local officials emphasized that the project reflects South Carolina’s continued momentum in advanced manufacturing and its ability to attract global investment through workforce readiness, strategic infrastructure and a business-friendly climate.
The Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved job development credits associated with the project and awarded a $250,000 Set-Aside grant to Greenville County to support building improvements at the site.
